5.5. Major maintenance of the engine - general informationAt performance of major maintenance it is recommended to check, repair or replace the generator, a starter and the ignition distributor. The preliminary amount of works and expenses on engine restoration (to repair of a head, the block of cylinders, krivoshipno-shatunny and klapanny mechanisms) is determined by its condition at the moment of removal and dismantling. The condition of the block of cylinders which in some cases it is expedient to replace (see below) is defining. At assembly of the repaired engine all laying and a sealant without fail is replaced.
